My name is Dan Thompson, I write the blog responsible gun ownership. I am a lifelong firearm enthusiast, I grew up in the country and my relatives were avid deer and pheasant hunters. I was introduced to sporting clays at an early age and I had found something that I really enjoyed doing. Throughout my younger years I had the opportunity to go to shoot quite a bit of skeet and trap and when I was about 13 I had completed my hunter safety course and started to go duck and pheasant hunting. Firearms have been a lifetime hobby for me and I have learned many safety tips and learned a lot about firearms in general over the years. It is my goal to provide knowledge to a group of new generation gun owners that maybe have not had the years of experience I have had. Gun sales at an all time high I thought it would be a good opportunity to pass forward some knowledge about firearm safety and other issues involved with firearms that I think would be valuable to anyone thinking about purchasing a firearm to use while hunting or going to their local range. Currently I am attending school so I do not have the opportunity to go shoot recreationally like I used to but I do go to the range with my cousins when I visit back home and pass on the family tradition. I am a firm believer in gun safety and that guns are not toys. Guns do what they are designed to do and it is our job to make sure there are no accidents when recreational using. Firearms safety courses and other events I have attended have given real life examples of how simple measures could have prevented accidents. I hope that I will be able to give valuable knowledge to teach people about firearms and how to safely use them. I can be reached at [email protected]
